Ingredients
1 cup Warm Water (about 110°F/43°C)
2-1/4 tsp (1 packet) Active Dry Yeast
2 Tablespoons Sugar
2-1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp Salt
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
For the Topping:
3 Tablespoons Vegan Butter, melted
2 Cloves Garlic, minced
1 tsp Italian Seasoning (or a mix of dried basil, oregano, and thyme)
Pinch of Salt
Instructions
In a bowl, mix the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean dish towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 30-45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long breadstick shape and place them on a lined baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix the melted vegan butter, garlic, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt.
Brush the breadsticks generously with the garlic herb topping. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
As soon as they come out of the oven, brush them with any remaining garlic butter for extra flavor.
